Terms of Service
These terms describe the rules for using Truen, including candidate profiles, employer review tools, GitHub analysis, and AI-assisted hiring decision support.
Last updated: June 7, 2026
These pages are product disclosures and working policy drafts. They are not a substitute for legal advice and should be reviewed by counsel before public launch.
Nature of the service
Truen provides evidence-based hiring decision support. Truen is not an employment agency, recruiter, background-check company, or guarantee of employment. Employers remain responsible for every hiring decision.
Student and candidate responsibilities
- You must provide accurate account information and only connect GitHub repositories that you have the right to authorize Truen to access and analyze.
- Do not connect proprietary, employer-owned, client-owned, school-restricted, confidential, or third-party code unless you have permission to do so.
- You understand that Truen Profiles may include strengths, weaknesses, risks, limitations, flags, insufficient-evidence findings, and interview follow-ups.
- You grant Truen a limited license to ingest, store, process, analyze, generate, display, and share selected repository-derived evidence as needed to operate the service.
Applications and profile snapshots
- When you apply to a role, Truen shares a frozen copy of your Truen Profile with that employer.
- A later regeneration of your profile does not automatically change an already-submitted application snapshot.
- The employer may also generate AI-assisted qualification analysis for the application based on the role criteria and available Truen evidence.
Employer responsibilities
- Employers must use Truen as decision support only and may not rely on Truen outputs as the sole basis for hiring, rejection, or other employment decisions.
- Employers are responsible for complying with employment, anti-discrimination, privacy, AI hiring, recordkeeping, and candidate-notice laws.
- Employers may not redistribute candidate profiles outside the hiring process, scrape Truen, use candidate data to train external models, or use Truen outputs for non-hiring decisions.
AI-generated outputs
- Truen Profiles, qualification fit assessments, flags, limitations, and interview questions are AI-assisted interpretations and may be incomplete, incorrect, or low-confidence.
- Truen favors insufficient evidence over unsupported conclusions, but users must independently verify important information.
- Qualification fit labels such as Strong fit, Partial fit, Insufficient evidence, and Not a fit are not final hiring decisions.
Acceptable use
- Do not create fake accounts, misrepresent identity or ownership of repositories, attempt to bypass access controls, or interfere with Truen systems.
- Do not use Truen to discriminate unlawfully, harass candidates, infer protected characteristics, or make decisions unrelated to legitimate hiring evaluation.
- Truen may suspend or terminate access for misuse, security risk, or violation of these terms.
Service availability and changes
Profile generation, GitHub syncing, and qualification analysis may fail, be delayed, return insufficient evidence, or change as the product evolves. Truen may modify, suspend, or discontinue features.
